   Digital Darkroom.
A few years ago I  sold my traditional darkroom in favor of a digital darkroom. My digital darkroom consists a
Dell 8400 Computer with dual LCD monitors , Epson Stylus Photo printers, an Epson Scanner with transparency
adaptor. My image editing software of choice is Adobe PhotoShop. I use ArcSoft Panorama Maker for panoramics.
I highly recommend using dual monitors. Since using two monitors for photo editing  I would find it hard to go
    back to just one monitor.

Almost all of my work the last few years has been digital. However, I great number of the photographs on this site
were made using large and medium format film cameras. The following list represents the film based
photographic equipment I used, however most have been sold.

FILM Equipment:
    Toyo 45A 4x5 camera
Great metal field camera. Compact and fits great in a backpack.
Lenses: 90mm/f4.5 Nikkor, 150mm Caltar II, 210mm Nikkor

(the Nikkor 90mm f4.5 is a great, bright wide angle lens. It is
FOR SALE  as is the Nikkor 210mm - click here)

    Pentax 6x7
Designed like a 35mm but takes large 6x7 negs/transparencies. Excellent optics.
        Lenses: 55mm, 90mm, 135mm macro, 200mm

Fuji GA645 (Autofocus)   FOR SALE (email me)
Great for getting the benefits of larger film size but with portability of a point and shoot 35mm camera.
        Excellent quality.
        Lens: 60mm

Nikon F3HP  FOR SALE (email me)
        35mm film camera

Some of the photos in this web portfolio were taken with a previously owned Bronica ETR.

   FILM:
Fuji Velvia almost exclusively. Even though this film is slow (ISO 50 or 100), it has superior resolution and

     saturation ideal for scenic photography.

   LIGHTING:

My studio lighting consists of a Novatron 1000D (1000ws) lighting kit with mutiple flashheads. My "on-camera"
     flash is a Canon 430EX.

   FILTERS:
81A warming filter for film cameras.
In deep shade and on overcast days this filter eliminates the bluish cast and makes the transparency more
        pleasing.

     Polarizer.
Standard filter for reducing reflections and increasing color saturation.

     Graduated Neutral Density.
Great for controlling the contrast between the land and the sky, particularly on overcast days when you
want to catch the mood of the sky while properly exposing the foreground.

     Enhancing Filter.
Used with film this filter emphasizes the reds in a scene without altering the other colors.

   PACKS AND BAGS:
     Two Tamrac photo backpacks.

   TRIPOD:
Most photos taken with a Bogen 3221 tripod with a Bogen pan head. Recent photos taken with
Amnova carbon fiber tripod legs and an Amnova Ball Head.
