I have been intrigued by photography since grade school. After taking a short course in photo developing during wood shop, I was hooked. Still in grade school, I found myself in the possession of an old black and white home
dark room kit. But, after all of the chemicals were exhausted, I lost interest.

Years later, when I was given a small Kodak Instamatic camera for a high school graduation present, I begin taking photographs again. But, the resulting prints were less than pleasing. After a few more years passed, I
married and became the proud father of a baby girl. Better photographs of the baby justified the purchase of a used, Yashica GSN Electro 35, 35mm viewfinder camera. But, having many other things to do, I lost interest again.

Many years later, I went on vacation to visit my daughter in Florida. While I was on a trip to Key West, I spotted a group of shrimp boats sitting idle in Matanzas Pass. I grabbed my by now, 25 year old Yashica, which
was in need of repair, and took a snapshot of the shrimp boats. The resulting print reminded me how much I enjoyed taking photographs. The desire to take more and better photographs justified the purchase of a new digital Kodak DC280 2.1 meg camera. But, this time, I did not lose interest.

Still just an amateur's amateur, I'm learning more about my hobby. I like taking photographs of water, sunsets, nature scenes, boats, cityscapes or any combination thereof. Having recently started growing orchids, I have found that I need to learn much more about how to photograph orchids with the proper lighting, background, camera settings etc. My current digital camera is already outdated when compared to the wealth of features available on today's cameras. It seems the purchase of a better, more advanced, digital camera is
in order.

Some of my other interests include woodworking, orchids, motorcycles, boats, auto racing, motorcycle racing, powerboat racing, exercise, and the occasional bicycle ride. Living in Florida and being able to
see my Daughter, Son-in-Law and two Grandsons, will soon be a big part of my life as well.

All of the photographs displayed here were taken with a Kodak DC280 digital camera except for the photo of the shrimp boats which was taken with a Yashica GSN Electro 35, 35mm viewfinder camera.

Ed. NOTE: Greg has now retired and moved to Florida. Once he gets settled in, he plans on sending some new photos of his new home state...maybe just in time to make us northerners envious this winter.
