The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness is a Michigan State Park located on the Upper Peninsula. The Porcupine Mountains meet Lake Superior and can make for great photos ops. There are many lakes in the mountains. The feature attraction is Lake of the Clouds, a beautiful clear lake that can be photographed from the Escarpment Trail, a ridge that runs the along the length of the lake and the river that feeds it. 
   
The Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is located on Lake Superior near Munising, Michigan (Upper Peninsula). The Lake Superior shoreline cliffs there are an artist's palette of color created by minerals leaching from the rock. 
   
This is a photo set of the Ochlockonee River at Ochlockonee State Park, about 35 miles south of Tallahassee, FL. The Ochlockonee River has many moods. I captured a few here at sunrise, sunset and, on one cool morning, in a dense fog.
   

These photos were taken on a recent winter kayak and camping trip to northern Florida. These images were taken at Anastasia State Park near St. Augustine, on the St. John's River west of St. Augustine, and at Manatee Springs State Park near Chiefland, Florida on the Suwannee River.            
   

This photo set was taken in Hocking Hills State Park. Most of these images were taken in Old Mans Cave grotto. It was early in the morning when I shot these photos and the grotto was in deep shade.
   

This is one of my favorite subjects. It is an old covered bridge that crosses Stonelick Creek in southwestern Ohio. 
   

Most of the images in this gallery were taken at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore near Munising, Michigan. This is an area of many waterfalls and colorful cliffs on the Lake Superior shoreline. 
   

My neighbor has a beautiful garden that supplies a colorful subject every spring. This year I was experimenting with low wide angle shots.

 

 

An ice storm hit southwestern Ohio turning the countryside into a ice palace. I was intrigued by the ice encasing the tree buds that hold the promise of spring leaves.

   

Every four years riverboats from around the country steam into the port of Cincinnati for a five day festival called Tall Stacks. These are images from "Tall Stacks 2006".
