I started taking photos in the
5th grade with an Kodak Brownie Starflash. At Norwood High
School I was the school photographer taking photos for the school
paper, the yearbook and the homecoming queen and prom queen
candidate portraits. The school camera was a large Graflex
(I think) that I used to take black and white photos. Loaded my own
film, developed negatives and made prints.
I have always been the
designated photographer at events, particularly family events. So,
of course, I appear in very few photos. A tripod and timer have
helped me appear in the family archives on occasion.
In 1999 my family bought me a
digital camera and my interest in photography blossomed with the
ability to "develop" photos again and create at home.
I take photos of people, places
and things that I see and like. I make calendars and
FlipAlbums and frame large prints that I like. They are hanging
in my home as well as friends and family.
I currently use a 4.0
Megapixel Olympus Camedia D-40 Z00M. It is compact and easy to carry
where ever I go. I use Adobe Photoshop to edit my photos and
print on an HP Deskjet 1220C which allows me to print up to 13 x 19.
